One VERY important thing to know as a blogger, is that you can’t simply use any picture you find on Google for your blog. When it comes to using images on your site, you have three option: Using your own, investing in paid stock images or finding free ones! I completely understand that option 1 can quickly become a lot of work, and option number 2 might not sound too appealing when you’re just starting out. That’s why I’m sharing the best website you can use to find free stock images!
The best websites for free stock images.
To avoid getting into any legal trouble, you should always make sure the images on your site are not protected by copyright. When using free stock images, you can choose to credit the original photographer, but you are not obligated to do so. To help you ahead in your journey towards becoming a blogger, I have compiled this ULTIMATE list of free stock image websites! The websites have pictures for bloggers in all different niches, so there will always be something for you!
Are you having trouble deciding on your blog’s niche? Check out this post: How to Find Your Niche: Deciding on a Blog Topic.
This is probably the most popular stock image website. It has a very large variety of pictures, which means it’s usually easy to find what you’re looking for. The downside to this, is that your readers might have already seen some of the images you’ve found on Unsplash.
Tip: It might sound a little contradictory, but use stock images that aren’t very popular for your website’s overall design. It helps prevent it from looking too generic.
This site is especially great candid-looking images that have people in them. These are usually a little trickier to find, but I always find good ones over there.

12. New Old Stock
I wanted to end this list with a very special one. New Old Stock contains vintage photos of public archives that are free of know copyright. Very cool!
Of course, there are many more websites out there that provide free stock images. However, I personally really dislike those generic looking stock photos you see everywhere. Just because you didn’t take all of the images on your site yourself, doesn’t mean it has to show that.
I absolutely love every single one of the websites in this list. I hope it will be useful for your blog! What is your favourite free stock image website? Let me know in the comments below!
